so, Paris...
the best bit of the week was meeting up with friends, 1 who i hadn't seen in years, 1 who i hadn't seen in months and 1 who i hadn't seen in days... for the main part, the holiday could have been anywhere as we spent a lot of time drinking beer, shooting the breeze and watching the world go by. the fact that it was in Paris just made it better, what with the fine food, fine wine and fine women!

we were lucky in that we were staying less than half a mile from the louvre and had a metro station right behind the apartment, which meant we were really central. that made it easy to do the touristy things like the eiffel tower, sacre coeur, monmartre, notre dame, a cruise on the seine, the louvre, the champs elysees, the arc de triumph, la defense, and everything in between.

despite Paris' great metro service we ended up walking alot (like up the eifel tower and all the way from la defence to the louvre) and as such my feet are still a bit raw, but mainly i'm tired still from all the drinking, the late nights and the early mornings. what i need is another week off, what i get though is a 4.30am start tomorrow!!

So i'm back from paris and it'd be nice to say it's good to be back...

I've never felt so relaxed. Dad was out of intensive care first thing this morning and ate breakfast and lunch on the high dependancy ward.Meanwhile i've had a pedicure/foot massage, a chocolate back massage and a facial. My body feels like leaden jelly and my mind feels empty!
To anyone stressed i can really recommend a day of pampering.

Dad's operation went well and he's now in intensive care recovering.Meanwhile i'm pink from the sun already and had my first experience of driving left hand drive on the wrong side of the road. Hotel's very nice, might investigate the health spa tomorrow.

well that's the holiday booked, finally!!
was originally intending to go to Cuba, but because our summer was rubbish the usual last minute deals aren't very good and Cuba's now out of my price range.

after much searching we settled on a much cheaper but still good Health Spa resort in Lanzarote (clicky only using IE)



obviously Lanzarote is going to cost a lot less than Cuba, so i am now planning a little sojourn to Paris in the spring... not that i've got the travel bug at all!
